The aim of ESSA founder, Adam Murry, is to create an environment that enables players to develop the key principles on their journey in becoming an elite performer. The academy provides the very best of UEFA licensed European Professional coaches, which is recognized as the highest world soccer coaching qualification. Each coach embodies the philosophy of ESSA that acknowledges that the player is at the center of the journey. By utilizing technical, physical, psychological and social corners, ESSA coaches can influence each player with the ongoing knowledge that is required of the modern-day soccer player. This unique ESSA coaching approach provides opportunities for the players to receive the in-depth delivery that is required to realize any and all potential for personal growth and skills development.
At the very heart of ESSA is their choice of Elite coaches with a vast array of soccer knowledge as well as years of professional experience. Recently, ESSA proudly welcomed former Premier League Professional Player and highly regarded UEFA professional football coach, Shaun Brooks, to their Team. Shaun played football professionally from 1979-1998, under world renowned soccer managers including Terry Venables, who was National team manager of England from 1994 to 1996, Harry Redknapp who has managed AFC Bournemouth, West Ham United, Portsmouth (twice), Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and Tony Pulis who has managed three clubs in the Premier League. Shaun has played with such renowned football clubs such as Crystal Palace, AFC Bournemouth, Leyton Orient and Worthing, before retiring to purse coaching. He was Academy Manager at AFC Bournemouth and then took over as head coach at Poole Town FC as well as the youth coach at Bristol City FC. From there he assumed head coach at LeAF Studio School where he designed and delivered a program for over 100 students and junior coaches.
Shaun brings a wealth of talent from both his playing and coaching experiences in Great Britain. “I’m very excited to be joining the ESSA coaching staff in Tampa,” says Shaun. “My real strength as a coach is my attention to detail. I’ve played professionally under a few legends of the game and hope to pass on everything I learned from each of them to the players at ESSA.”
ESSA FC has a core philosophy that recognizes duty to support the local soccer community within selected projects and programs. It is important to ESSA to enable the Academy and its members to be within the heartbeat of the soccer community and share experiences with groups that the center can support.
