Falcons Soccer Partner with ESSA

Florida College Athletics is excited to announce a new partnership with Elite Soccer Skills Academy based in Dade City, Florida. ESSA is a top soccer academy with the most innovative training methods for the development of youth players. The Academy boasts an impressive staff of highly qualified coaches, including our head men’s soccer coach, Saif Alsafeer.

Adam Murry, the former Director of AFC Bournemouth in the English Premier League, owns ESSA.  Adam took over AFC Bournemouth in 2008 to support the club’s dire situation, investing heavily and immersing himself in all aspects of the club, appointing Eddie Howe as permanent Manager on January 19th, 2009 and assisted in changing the mind-set of the players and reinvigorating their training regime. After recovering from a seventeen-point deficit in the bottom of the English football League (fondly referred to locally as ‘The Great Escape’), AFC Bournemouth secured promotion the following year and by 2014 had ascended to the Premier League, arguably the most competitive Soccer League in the world.

ESSA has teamed up with our soccer programs at Florida College to provide access to the latest training technologies available and to provide opportunities to players seeking a professional soccer career. Coach Alsafeer had this to say, “We’re thrilled to develop a partnership that is crucial to enhancing the student-athlete experience of our men’s and women’s soccer players. We look forward to continuing the great success in our soccer programs at Florida College with the help of the great people at ESSA.”

The Falcons will kick off their season in late August; stay tuned for the release of our official schedules.
