ESSA have been working with Thierno Diallo, a sports and conditioning coach from Queens, NY, who is a founding member of the STK Sports Academy based in Sierra Leone.

STK Sports Academy (STK) is a registered 501(C)3 non-profit organization. Their mission is to give the youth in Sierra Leone,  who lack access to opportunities, all the tools  they need to succeed. Through physical training, academics, mentor-ship and support, we’ll help them reach their full potential as the next generation of the country’s leaders. Their goal is to leave a lasting legacy of opportunity and wellness for these extremely low-income youth and their communities.

Steve Cuss, Head of AFC Bournemouth’s Community Trust, who kindly donated 50 Team Kits for the children, and ESSA FC Academy Thierno left last week to visit the Academy where classroom facilities and other facilities are underway.

Thierno  commented “Excited to be going back to Sierra Leone where we’ll be officially launching STK Sports Academy’s athletic and academic program in Mountain Cut, Freetown! Thanks to AFC Bournemouth and ESSA for their partnership and support. Building our future one community at a time”

School Community Outreach Program

The Academy takes real pride in enhancing the Soccer education within our community. This is mirrored and reinforced by how we value the overall academic education of our players. We conduct regular school outreach coaching sessions in line with Physical Education Florida Standards and through regular dialogue with the local education providers we support the importance of our players within education.

We take a real interest in our players within the schools program and are regular visitors as coaches within schools from KG through to leading into college soccer.

ESSA values our role in the community and enjoy the many collaborative involvements within this special area.

ESSA outreach projects scores again!

Community Director Sarah Murry & coaches from the Elite Soccer Skills Academy, were invited into Academy At The Farm Charter School in Dade City to deliver ESSA’s School Outreach Soccer training sessions for children aged between kindergarten and 5th grade. Of the 33 students that participated, many had never played soccer before. This is something that ESSA were very proud to introduce and be a part of!

“The reality of having 33 players attend the first session proves that there is a growing demand for soccer within the area. We are proud to be able to offer our services and knowledge to help children potentially start their own soccer career and help promote a healthy lifestyle. ESSA values itself on its responsibility to help provide to the local community, this is not the first outreach project that has been delivered and we are happy to announce that it will not be our last”.

We would like to thank Academy At The Farm and coach Deedee for inviting and welcoming us in.

My boys had so much fun learning soccer during your visit to our School, its a sport our family has not explored before so this was a great opportunity to have them try with their school friends.

Thank you very much for coming to our school and volunteering your time, talent and treasure to provide our students with the outstanding new experience with soccer and teaching them the skills.  We are blessed to have people like you who care about helping your community.
