Pathway of the Academy

TALENT ID / PRE ACADEMY

ADVANCED PROGRAM

PRO CLUB

  • Initial identification
  • Demonstrating an appropriate attitude, enthusiasm and desire to be selected for the Academy
  • Sufficient physical development to suggest could apply to coaching philosophy and programme
  • Realistic current technical ability relevant to age range
  • Individual demonstrates a potential capability that could be further explored and developed in an Academy
  • The academy provides a talent I D / Pre Academy for players either not yet considered at the required level for an Academy place or players that have not yet been observed and require an initial first stage observation before a pathway identified
  • Player Talent Identification from external observation, scouts, club teams, school recommendations
  • Players demonstrating ability but required further observation before pathway recommended
  • Academy players not currently meeting required standards that will drop back into I D / pre academy group for on going coaching and potentially specific individual action plan and focus coaching session
  • Player from outside the area that requires an initial observation International players that require initial observation
  • Players returning from injury that requires a re visit of the coaching programme
  • Demonstrating consistent application, coach ability and receptive to challenges
  • Beginning to demonstrate some excellent personal traits linked to performance
  • Some areas of outstanding elements within the individuals performance
  • Clearly becoming advanced with the technical components required for players at age range, working above the age range
  • High level of physical capabilities that are transferable to the game, again dependant on age range
  • Showing a cognitive ability to problem solve, influence challenges and overcome game scenarios
  • Clear demonstration of the psychological demands of competing in a professional environment – resilience, emotional intelligence, traveling, game preparation, post performance reflection
  • Outstanding physical performances in a range of areas that are required within this age range and working at professional standards
  • Outstanding overall technique demonstrated and linked to the position requirements for the individual
  • Some flexibility in position capabilities, ranging from the positions, shape, roles that may be required
  • Clearly driven to the demands, expectations, challenge and opportunities elite performance will provide. All structured around a professional environment
